Gun Wharf Quays 14.05.06
Organised in aid of the Italian Job Charity, it was an event not to be missed. OSMC headed off down the motorway heading for Gun Wharf Quays, via a pit stop at the local Travelodge to meet up with our members from afar Mike, Phil, Sue and Cameo thanks for making the trip.
Found the initial parking, which included a game of dodge the barrier (Thanks Laura for showing us the way). We parked the cars and then waited for Chris to come and give us our run stickers and very important breakfast vouchers!
We headed to HaHas for breakfast and a cup of tea, before attending the safety briefing. Once these formalities were completed, it was time for the minis and scooters to be moved into place.
Avoiding the shoppers (and that barrier once again!!), we were directed to Central Square, where we managed to get parked altogether. Baking trays, oil pads and flyers in place the rest of the day was ours. Polishing, shopping, chatting, eating, drinking followed by more polishing, shopping, chatting, eating and drinking soon filled up the day.
The mini owners had to vote for their best scooter of the day, with the scooter owners voting for their mini of the day.
Dressed to Kill won scooter of the day consisted of a marble effect paintjob and amazing engraving and leafing metalwork you had to see past the x-rated pictures!
The scooter owners for Mini of the day voted the for Austin mark one mini it was lovely and well deserving of the prize.
Gun Wharf organisers voted for a white convertible with pulsing LED lights as their mini of the day
A thank you goes to all who organised this event and hope we will get an invitation next year.
I would like to thank all OSMC members for attending and making this another successful event for OSMC.
