Weymouth Run OSMC met in the car park at the Churchill Arms at 10.45 Sunday. A super turn out, with Dave in Bully( with a slightly bemused Sarah, back from Oz), Ivana in Betty, Mark,Andrea and Kieran in Marks Mini, Julia and Tim in Millie, Chris and Laura in the snazzy re-sprayed silver and blue Mini, Tim and the whole family in the red rocket and me and Pam in Gulf As Pam and I had arranged the venue, I was elected to lead, so the 7 cars left Alderholt at 11. We picked up Pete and his wife in their Cooper Sport at the Handley rondabout, and off we went, an eight convoy of gleeming Minis across the Dorset Countryside. Down past Blandford, and on to Dorchester. Up over the Ridgeway before we hit the traffic, and a little stop to regroup, then we were at the Famous Old Spa by just after 12. A warm welcome, time to relax, and some good food followed, so by 2.00 we were all ready for the jaunt home. Dave volunteered to do the return trip, and we soon found ourselves weaving in and out of the small back streets of Weymouth, before parading up and down the front a couple of times. People were quite surprised to see so many Minis, making so much noise, especially when they saw the age of the drivers!(Chris excepted) Then off across country to Wareham, where we had a slight difference of opinion with a twerp driving a Honda, who was so impatient, he had to force his way into the convoy. I buzzed him at the lights, and Kierens' hand signals suggested he was in banking, but he had split us up so Dave had to regroup just out of town. A quick u-turn, and off to Corfe Mullen, where Julia swung away at the Bakers Arms roundabout, on to Bournemouth, where Tim and Pete headed for home, West Moors were Mark and Andrea left, so the four Alderholt Minis returned to the village without further incident. A really great day out, and OSMCs first visit to the seaside in 2006. George
